This document describes the terms of use for ToXgene, a computer program
result of research work conducted by Denilson Barbosa and Alberto Mendelzon
of the University of Toronto, hereafter called the authors, in collaboration
with John Keenleyside and Kelly Lyons of IBM Toronto Lab.

1. DEFINITIONS

The terms "ToXgene", "this software" and "the work" refer to this package in
its entirety, including the Java classes (in lib/toxgene.jar), the sample
templates provided, and all documentation that is provided in the ToXgene
website.

The term "the user" refers to any individual or organization that decides to
use this software.

2. TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

By using this software, the user agrees:

2.1 (NO COMMERCIAL USE) Not to use ToXgene for commercial purposes, and
without limiting the generality of the foregoing, not to modify, distribute,
reverse-engineer or decompile this software, or sell products or services
based on this software without the express permission of the University of
Toronto.

2.2 (ACKNOWLEDGEMENT) To acknowledge on any published copies or in any use
of this software the authorship of the work and the fact that the work was
made at the University of Toronto, and to affix or apply proper copyright
notice on all copies (i.e., (c) 2001 by the University of Toronto and IBM
Corporation).

2.3 (NO WARRANTIES - USE AT OWN RISK) To recognize that the University of
Toronto and IBM Corporation make no warranty of any kind and does not
guarantee maintenance or revision of the work.

2.4 The user releases and forever discharges The Governing Council of the
University of Toronto, its servants and agents, the authors and their
respective heirs, executors, administrators, successors and IBM Corporation
(collectively called the "releasees"), of and from any loss, costs or
damages that the user may at any time suffer or incur, and the user
undertakes and agrees to indemnify the releasees and each of them and save
them harmless from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, causes
of action, suits, damages, costs and expenses that they or any of them may
at any time suffer or sustain at the instance of any person to whom or
corporation to which the user may disclose or furnish this software, or any
copy or modification or part thereof or any application or use thereof, for
or by the reason of any matter or thing arising or resulting from or
otherwise in connection with the said work or any copying, modification or
part thereof and any application or use thereof, including without
limitation, any defects, errors or limitations in the said work, copy or
modification or part, it being expressly understood and agreed by the user
that while the releasees have made reasonable efforts to avoid errors, they
disclaim and are absolved from any and all liability in connection therewith
as aforesaid.


THE USE OF THIS SOFTWARE IMPLIES THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE ABOVE STATED
CONDITIONS.
